In the words of John McEnroe: “You cannot be serious!” Well, at least Alizé Cornet can’t be serious after an incident which occurred in the first round of the Swedish Open.

The 21-year-old found herself up against the impressive Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark, who recently made it to the fourth round of Wimbledon.
Wozniacki was serving for the match point in Båstad before she was so rudely interrupted by a niggling ringtone. Of all people, the phone belonged Cornet.
The native of France quickly dealt with the issue, although she was highly apologetic afterwards. While the world No. 1 (and the spectators) saw the funny side, Wozniacki was thrown slightly off track, as Båstad broke the Dane's serve to win the game.
Wozniacki, however, won the match 6-4, 6-4, before retiring in the second round due to a shoulder injury.
