Armed Forces Recruiting Station Bombed In Times Square

Fox News is covering the story and details are sketchy but are trickling in. Web cams are being reviewed to obtain a positive ID on the bomber.

DEVELOPING STORY — An explosion has been reported in New York's Times Square. Early reports indicate it occured on 43rd and 8th at the U.S. Military recruiting station at approximately 3:45 a.m. [...]


UPDATE:

An incendiary device has now been reported to have been found.

0641hours, CST...RETRACTION...there are reports that the incendiary device found was not an incendiary device...

[...] The recruiting station was renovated in 1999 to better fit into the flashy ambiance of Times Square, using neon tubing to give the glass and steel office a patriotic American flag motif. For a half century, the station was the armed forces' busiest recruiting center. It has set national records for enlistment, averaging about 10,000 volunteers a year.

Police said it was too early to say if the blast may have been related to two other minor explosions in the city. [...]

Subway service is soon to be restored to the city.

UPDATE

Mayor Bloomberg has said that they have video and witnesses and the individual will be caught and brought to justice. He said that this attack was against the men and women of the United States Armed Services and will not be tolerated in New York City.
