"List Kiosk" Coming To Your Area Target Store Soon

Apparently Baby Registry's and Wedding Registry's work so well, Target has decided to open up "List Kiosk's" to enable your everyday guy or gal to create their own wish lists that can be accessed by family and friends in search of that perfect gift item.

Don't know what to get Aunt Joan for her upcoming birthday? Or what about Jane and Bob's housewarming party - what would they want?
Well, Target Stores, which tout themselves as being innovative and cutting edge, is going to take the guesswork out of gift giving. They have already launched the website which enables you to create your own personal wish list online. Categories include birthdays, anniversaries, holidays and housewarming. Also included on the list of lists - shopping, back to school, first apartment and college dorm.
List makers can then e-mail copies of their lists to family and friends. When the in store kiosks are installed, frazzled shoppers can merely punch in the name of the intended gift recipient, print out the list and start shopping.
Wonder if list makers can access the list to see if the items they are hoping for have been purchased?
Sort of takes the surprise out of birthdays and Christmas if that is the case.
What do you think? Is this a helpful tool for shoppers, or just a way for Target to increase business by getting people to make their lists which will now consist of only items which can be purchased in Target Stores?
Will children's birthday party invitations now include little cards indicating that Jenny or Johnny is registered at Target?
Frankly, I think I'll pass.
