Where's the Beef, Indeed: A Steak Shortage Hits N.Y.

The production of ethanol claims another victim. Ethanol, which is made from corn, is one major reason beef is becoming more and more expensive. Restaurants and steak eating men everywhere are becoming concerned.

The NY Sun reports on the state of the beef.
"It's getting worse," the owner of Ben Benson's Steakhouse, Ben Benson, said. "The problems the ranchers are having are making it more difficult because feed is getting more expensive."
Some are serving rib-eye, others Buffalo steak. Menu changes are the order of the day as prices go up for prime cuts of beef and the it's availabilty plays a factor as well.
Most steakhouses have not yet passed on the cost to the customer, so that at least is good news.
Some of us real men need our steak, unlike those fragile vegan girlies.
Beef...It's what's for dinner. It just may not be the best cut.
