Niagara Falls makes the Seven Wonders cut

CBC Radio released the 50 places (and a couple of things) shortlisted for its Seven Wonders of Canada contest and Niagara Falls is one of them that made it.

The National and Sounds Like Canada are searching for the Seven Wonders of Canada. You can help choose them by voting for the ones you think should win.
As of this morning, The Northern Lights is leading with 339 votes The aurora borealis is also called the northern lights since it is only visible in the North sky from the Northern Hemisphere. What you see is a bright glow observed in the night sky, usually in the polar zone.

Following in 2nd place is Niagara Falls getting 252 votes. The Falls are comprised of three separate waterfalls on the border between Canada and the United States.
The Stanley Cup came in 3rd with 224 votes and 4th goes to the Northwest Pingos in the Northwest Territories with 172 votes. Pingos grow from permafrost. They are small, cone-shaped hills with hearts of ice. These low mounds are the result of frozen ground being forced upward by the pressure of subterranean water.Some are over 1000 years old.

5th place went to the Bay of Fundy with 167 votes. It is known for having the highest tides in the world

The numbers continue to change and if you want a say then go to the site and vote.
Judges will then pick the Seven Wonders of Canada once they decide if they meet the criteria of
1. Essential 'Canadian-ness' - historically significant, character filled, valued
2. Originality/uniqueness of the pitch and place
3. Spectacular physical site or amazing human creation
4. Ability to inspire
5. Range within the final seven - diversity of location, type of wonder

I voted. I will say I did not vote for the Stanley Cup. To me the wonders should be natural and beautiful.
