Natural Health Sherpa Endorses Effectiveness of Ginger Against Cancer

(PRWEB) August 01, 2012

Natural Health Sherpa published a review of ginger endorsing the herb as an anti-inflammatory that helps protect against heart attack and cancer. “Ginger helps to reduce inflammation by actually blocking the very genes needed to create inflammation in the first place,” says Natural Health Sherpa.

A study reviewed by Natural Health Sherpa tested the effects of ginger on rats. The rats were divided into three groups. One group received placebo, one received a low dose of 50 mg/kg, and the third group received a high those of 500 mg/kg.

“Researchers found that rats given the higher dosage of ginger extract orally exhibited a statistically significant reduction in blood-clotting factors and cholesterol levels, as compared to the placebo group. They also had a reduction in inflammation markers,” notes Natural Health Sherpa.

Another randomized, double-blind and placebo-controlled study tested the effects of ginger on 40 people. The participants were divided into two equal groups. The first group received 5 grams of ginger powder every day and the other group received placebo.

“At the end of four weeks, those people taking the ginger enjoyed statistically greater reductions in lipoprotein oxidation than the placebo group,” Natural Health Sherpa reports.

Natural Health Sherpa recommends using ginger in cooking, making ginger tea, or taking ginger in capsule form.

Natural Health Sherpa provides in-depth, science-based, independent reviews of natural health therapies and remedies that have been proven to be both safe and effective and are backed by good science -- multiple double-blind, placebo-controlled, randomized studies. Unfortunately, there are many charlatans making bogus, unfounded claims in the natural health area, so our goal is to separate fact from fiction to pinpoint what actually works.
