WestJet launches new non-stop service to Aruba

Airline makes first flight to its 30th sun destination available from Toronto Pearson

CALGARY, May 6, 2012 /CNW/ - estJet today announced the launch of new, non-stop seasonal service between Toronto and Aruba, Netherlands Antilles. The inaugural flight departs Toronto's Pearson International Airport at 9 a.m. EDT today.

"Without a doubt, Aruba is one of the most beautiful and culturally fascinating islands in the Caribbean," said John MacLeod, WestJet Vice-President, Network Management and Alliances. "With an average daily temperature of about 30 degrees, clear skies and cooling trade winds, the climate is perfect for a vacation at any time of the year. WestJet will fly between Toronto and Aruba once weekly on Sundays.

Aruba is the latest WestJet destination served non-stop from Toronto Pearson. Aruba is one of five new destinations the airline is launching as part of its 2012 summer schedule.
