New Artist Joins Terry Ribera’s Remington Tattoo Parlor

San Diego, CA – Remington Tattoo Parlor recently welcomed a new artist Kristjan Olsen to their shop. Located in the North Park area of San Diego, Olsen is skilled in almost any style, including realistic black and grey, and American traditional. Olsen’s focus and specialty is contemporary Japanese style.

Kristjan Olsen started his work in the state of Washington before moving south to San Diego. Olsens’s attraction of Contemporary Japanese style frequently showcases Japanese culture’s reverence for nature, such as animals and flowers. Animals like lions and tigers are associated with strength, courage, and protection. Koi fish are popular since they represent luck, success, and good fortune. Contemporary Japanese tattoos can also feature figures and portraits, including warriors and geishas, both realistic and mythological. Olsen can handle walk-in clients since he can do many other styles of tattoos. Olsen can do American traditional or old school. It is easily identified with big, bold black outlines with limited colors and iconic images.

“I love tattooing because I get to make art around others who also make art,” says Olsen. “I get a unique experience learning about the world through my craft.” Tired of the rain and cold, Olsen moved down to San Diego for its sunny weather and beauty. Besides tattooing, he enjoys biking, running, and surfing.

Remington Tattoo Parlor has nearly a dozen tattoo artists. Each artist has their own strength for a variety of styles. Each Remington tattoo artist combines his or her artistic abilities to design and develop custom tattoos that will match a client’s vision and style for a fully customized tattoo. Some of the styles the shop specializes in are Traditional, Neo-Traditional, Biomechanical, Dark Art, Spell, and Flash.

The shops’ founder, Terry Ribera, opened his North Park shop in July 2011. Ribera has focused most of his recent career in illustrative tattooing. He is an internationally recognized tattoo artist. Ribera named the shop after the late 19th century first commercial manufactured typewriter Remington. The tattoo parlor is styled after the post-industrial revolution of a 1920’s workshop.

Remington Tattoo Parlor is located at 3009 Myrtle Street in San Diego. They are open seven days a week, from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Appointments can be made with Kristjan Olsen, Terry Ribera, or any of the other tattoo artists. Walk ins are welcome also. For more information, please go to https://remingtontattoo.com/.
