Enrich Salon’s Mother’s Day ad redefines love

With Mother’s Day just around the corner, Enrich Salon’s latest ad is another fresh way of looking at motherhood and what it may actually mean.

The ad first show a series of one-scene stories which make you frown at first. A series of men and women, not made of conventional parent material face the camera. The voice over suggests that none of these people can or should have children because of what they do or feel. A woman with a career cannot be a mother as well. It is too late for a middle aged woman to be a mother. And so on.


And just when you have gotten miffed enough, the second part of the ad switches to show the same people as mothers. Of a child one has adopted. Of a lovely dog another one is cuddling. And more. And you are suddenly smiling, or even crying happily.

What is so different about this ad is that it does not tell one what to feel or believe. It lets one feel the emotion along with Enrich as the ad pans out. So it comes not as a messenger, but an empath. In every one’s life story. The message also is beautiful and come in the words of Rumi.

One final thing to be mentioned will not be out of place here. Among the examples of real mothers is an LGBTQ couple. It’s like in its short playing time, the ad has thought of everything!
