Caroline Black Sikorske Has Been Recognized Among the Top in Her Industry by the Expert Network©

The Expert Network© celebrates its newest member, Attorney Caroline Black Sikorske

Tampa Bay, FL - May 24, 2017 - (

Caroline Black Sikorske, Managing Partner and Shareholder of the law firm of Sessums Black Caballero Ficarrotta, has joined The Expert Network©, an invitation-only service for distinguished professionals. Ms. Sikorske has been chosen as a Distinguished Lawyer™ based on peer reviews and ratings, dozens of recognitions, and accomplishments achieved throughout her career.

Ms. Sikorske outshines others in her field due to her extensive educational background, numerous awards and recognitions, and career longevity. After receiving her bachelor’s degree from Cornell University, she studied law at Stetson University College where she earned her Juris Doctor in 1984. She began her career as an Assistant State Attorney for Hillsborough County, Florida before devoting her practice to marital and family law in 1989. Among numerous other honors, she is an AV® Preeminent™ Rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell® and is recognized by The Best Lawyers of America.

With over 25 years dedicated to law, Ms. Sikorske brings a wealth of knowledge to her industry and in particular to her area of specialization, family law. When asked why she decided to pursue a career in law, Ms. Sikorske said:

"I've always enjoyed reading and analyzing, and I felt like being an attorney might suit those skills, so I decided when I was young to go into law school. After I graduated, I was a young prosecutor and loved trying cases. But I finally found my way to family law when I discovered how fulfilling it was to work one on one with clients and help them through what is often a very difficult time in their lives."

As a thought-leader in her field, Ms. Sikorske stresses the importance of having a deep understanding of prevailing trends in family law. In particular, she has been paying close attention to the rise of both prenuptial agreements and same-sex marriage issues. She noted:

"Prenuptial agreements have recently become much more common. In the past, most people would just get married and have a marriage license. But I think they are realizing that having a prenuptial agreement isn't necessarily meant to be insulting—it's simply a way of being responsible and being honest with their partner. There has also been a rise in same-sex marriages and related legal issues. Divorces of same-sex couples is still very new and uncharted territory."

Beyond the courtroom, Ms. Sikorske is an active and prominent member of the legal community. She is a former President of the Florida Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML), where she also served on the Board of Directors and as the Chair of the Annual Institute Committee in 2009. In addition to being Past Chair of the Family Law Section of the Florida Bar, she has served on the Executive Council and has chaired the Family Law Continuing Legal Education committee. Ms. Sikorske is also both an accomplished writer and speaker on family law issues and many of her notable articles have appeared in such prominent publications as HCBA Lawyer MagazineFlorida Bar Journal, and the Florida Family Law Section Commentator.
