>PRWEB.COM Newswire

Herndon, VA (PRWEB) January 23, 2014

Search Technologies was recently awarded a contract worth up to $6.34M from the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), and is the primary contractor chosen to build a new search system for the Online Public Access (OPA) resource, a portal to the billions of records that NARA maintains.

From researching one’s ancestry, to reading through presidential emails, and reviewing Civil War records, this new search system will ensure fast, easy access to the information that NARA maintains.

“NARA is the “Mount Everest” of authentic U.S. Government data ,” said Kamran Khan, CEO at Search Technologies. It contains tens of billions of records, most of which are not currently searchable online, or available to the public without physically visiting one of NARA’s 44 facilities. NARA has thousands of sources, and petabytes of digital content that will be made searchable through this project, and we are proud to be supporting them.”

With this award, Search Technologies now has four key Government information providers as clients, the others being the Government Printing Office (GPO), the Library of Congress, and the Office of the Law Revision Council (OLRC).
