-

The Yemeni cabinet tendered its resignation to President Abdrabuh Mansur Hadi on Thursday after a two-day siege of the prime minister by Shiite militiamen, a government source said.

"The government headed by Khalid Bahah has presented its resignation to the head of state," the source said.

The Huthi militia, who have controlled most of the capital since last September, had opened fire on Bahah's convoy on Monday and then laid siege to his residence, only allowing him to leave on Wednesday.
