U.S. strategy in Syria has not changed: White House

-

The White House on Friday said that the deployment of US special forces to Syria does not represent a shift in strategy.

"Our strategy in Syria hasn't changed," spokesman Josh Earnest said, rejecting accusations President Barack Obama has backtracked on a promise not to put boots on the ground.

"These forces do not have a combat mission," he said.
