Man pays traffic fine with thousands of pennies

Sanders paid with thousands of pennies because he wanted to protest his speeding ticket.

He believes he did nothing wrong when he was given a speeding ticket for driving nine miles per hour over the speed limit. He said he didn’t hurt anybody and he didn’t put anybody’s life in danger.

Sanders walked into the Municipal Court in Frisco with the pennies in 5 gallon buckets and then he dumped them onto the counter. He said it felt great.

The whole thing was captured on camera. Footage shows Sanders dumping out the buckets one after another, while the clerk looks on and appears to be displeased.

In the video, Sanders can be seen filling up the buckets with pennies by using a shovel. Once the pennies were in the buckets, he hauled them down to the clerk’s office.

Apparently the employees used a local CoinStar machine to count the pennies. It took around three hours for the change to be counted. When it was all said and done, Sanders had actually overpaid by almost $8, but he told the office that they could keep the extra.

Sanders fought the speeding ticket in court, and eventually his case went to trial. He lost his case after he was convicted by a jury.
