XHamster porn site protests North Carolina anti-LGBT law

Things are heating up over North Carolina’s unpopular HB2 anti-LGBT law, so much so that the popular porn site is getting into the fray. XHamster.com is one of the world’s most popular porn sites, being ranked 91st. among websites globally.

So it will be interesting to see just how much influence they have in getting the anti-LGBT law overturned in North Carolina. The law was intended to force transgender individuals to use public bathrooms based on their original genders.

XHamster.com spokesman Mike Kulich told the Huffington Post the website has always stood up for equality for everyone. “We have spent the last 50 years fighting for equality for everyone and these laws are discriminatory which XHamster.com does not tolerate,” he said in an official statement sent to The Huffington Post. “Judging by the stats of what you North Carolinians watch, we feel this punishment is a severe one. We will not standby and pump revenue into a system that promotes this type of garbage. We respect all sexualities and embrace them.”
The spokesman added that he believes “porn has the power to do what Bruce Springsteen can’t,” quotes Newser. Kulich says the statistics show that North Carolinians are a lot more open-minded, at least when it comes to porn than the lawmakers in North Carolina seem to think.

Back in March, we had 400,000 hits for the term ‘Transsexual’ from North Carolina alone,” he said. “People from that state searched ‘Gay’ 319,907 times,” he added. Kulich told the Huff Post the company plans to replace the black screen with a petition demanding a repeal of the obscene law.

Even though XHamster is joining other companies in protesting North Carolina’s anti-transgender law, it is interesting to note the website supports Donald Trump who has said he would consider appointing Supreme Court judges who would overturn the court’s gay marriage ruling.
