Loo-cy was originally developed by Goldberg as a fun promotion for public events like parades, air shows and to scoop snow.
Yup.You heard it, folks. “Poop while you scoop” is the city’s new motto, depending on how deep the snow gets. And if it gets any deeper this year, Goldberg is going to have to get a larger toilet to balance his even larger snow plow!
To be perfectly honest, Loo-cy should get a “Best-in-Class” for its ingenuity, cleverness, and out-of-the-box design while Goldberg himself should get one for Loo-cy’s cleverness, combined with her skillfulness of conception and design: Who else would have designed a drivable bathroom toilet, built with a snow plow and accessories? Better yet, who else would have thought of it in the first place?
Looking back in time, we see that Loo-cy’s owner made their first appearance in the 2012 DC Pride parade with Union Hardware’s “Flaming Queen” pulling a tub on wheels. The parade is an annual event celebrating the spirit and strength in the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender (GLBT) communities in Washington, DC. In 2014, the motorized toilet was newly designed and entered into the parade under the name of Loo-Cille, traveling to the tune of Little Richard’s Lucille being played by their marching brass band.
Throughout the years, the little motorized toilet entered auto show after show, winning most and evolving throughout the years. Loo-cy’s wins and upgrade designs are on the Union Hardware website for those who are interested. She’s not just a pretty face, but has the ability to look good and work hard, every time it snows.
