MasterCard’s recent survey also revealed that 62% of the participants were less likely to be worried about their email accounts being hacked into and 59% were less likely to worry about their homes being broken into. However, 77% of participants reported feeling anxious about the prospect of having their financial information compromised or stolen.
More than 50% of participants said they would rather nude photos of themselves leaked online than have their financial information stolen.
MasterCard’s results may not be that uncommon or surprising. In the past, a similar survey for the ‘Today’ show revealed that 57% of respondents said that they would rather have naked photos of themselves leaked online, while 43% chose their banking password.
Consumerist also had a survey going on and the results were similar. In that survey, more than 70% of the respondents said they were more worried about their financial information stolen than worried about naked pics of themselves being posted online.
