Dogs returned to family after FedEx driver takes them

Weirdly, the driver wasn’t even making a delivery to the house, reports the New York Daily News.

Instead, it seems he made an unscheduled stop to pick the dogs up.

Bruno and Sheila were dognapped Wednesday afternoon when they went outside to answer nature’s call, and the entire incident was captured by the home security cameras, KHOU reports.

The puppies weren’t returned by either the driver or FedEx. A good Samaritan found Sheila and Bruno wandering the streets Wednesday night and took them to an area veterinary clinic, Consumerist reports. Employees at the clinic recognized the adorable pooches from the news and contacted the Correas to let them know that someone had brought the dogs in.

A representative for FedEx told Consumerist that the driver, a contract worker for the company, is currently not making deliveries pending the outcome of an investigation, and FedEx is cooperating with local authorities.

In a statement released by FedEx, the company said this, per The New York Daily News:

“We are relieved that the pets are now safe with their owners. We are taking this incident very seriously and continue to work closely with authorities investigating this matter.”

Dog mom Erica Correa had her own opinion about the driver and his alleged misdeeds:

“To me he’s a monster. My kids were here, if they would have seen him, how would my children have reacted?” she said.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident, KHOU reports.

As for the Correa family, they are just thrilled to have their buddies back, especially little Savannah, who can be seen cuddling her dogs in the video.

“We’re just so happy, we feel like our family’s complete again, really, because we couldn’t go another night without these two,” Savannah’s dad, Armanda Correa, told KHOU.

“Pretty sure we’re all going to sleep in the same bed tonight,” he said.
