Lost cat somehow locked away 23 days survives to purr again

This story comes to us from the North Shore News in North Vancouver and it’s about a cat named Tia, another cat named Toby, and their human roommate named Joanna Knowles.

In early October the three were having renovations done on their condo in the Lower Lonsdale area of North Van when Tia, 4, mysteriously disappeared (disappearing more often involves mystery no?).

Toby took it upon himself to cry out looking for Tia, even going out onto the balcony repeatedly to wail and call out while peeking over the edge, perhaps thinking Tia had fallen.

“They are such good buddies. They snuggle together. They play a lot together,” Joanna told Brent Richter of the News.

“He (Toby) was really missing him (Tia). That really broke my heart to see him as distraught as he was.”

Meanwhile Johanna took it upon herself to put up flyers in the neighbourhood, but to no avail.

However 23 days after Tia went missing, Johanna got a call from a woman who had just moved into the building. The condo this woman moved into had been vacant for some time – only not for the past 23 days. Why?

Because Tia was found in the suite’s bathtub.

Tia was understandably not so very happy and did some hissing until picked up by Johanna; that’s when a great deal of purring began. It was also a happy reunion for Tia and Toby. Besides having lost weight a visit to the vet revealed nothing was otherwise wrong with Tia.

He is again in the peak of health.

How did he get there? Not known but it seems likely he somehow snuck in while workman were busy inside. Johanna is just happy her new neighbour didn’t wait another month before moving in.

As are Toby and Tia.
