Man critically injured in Mississauga shooting

The Peel Regional Police department responded to a call of shots fired in a house on Cindy Crescent, in the Dixie Road and Bloor Street area, at approximately 10:00 p.m.

When they arrived on the scene they found a man in his late 50’s that was critically injured.

Peel paramedics said that the man who suffered from multiple gun shot wounds in his torso and extremities, was transported to the Toronto Trauma Center, an intensive-unit hospital.

The Peel Regional Police tweeted: “Officers responding to shooting near Dixie Rd. and Bloor St. One male victim with injuries. Injuries are not known at this time.”

A few minutes later they said:”Shooting victim from Msga[sic] will be going to a Trauma center in Toronto via land ambulance shortly. Suspects have fled the area.”

The news has come days after an 18-year old man was arrested on Wednesday, for having arrived at London Health Sciences Center’s Victoria Hospital with multiple gunshot wounds, after having been involved in a gun fight at a Holiday Inn.

The number of shootings that has affected the Mississauga area seem to have risen in the past few weeks, as it has only been a week since another man was arrested for having been involved in a shooting on Mississauga’s Hwy. 427.
