About 11,660 cribs in the U.S., plus an additional 40 cribs sold in Canada are being recalled, the Commission reported.
The cribs being recalled are from the DaVinci brand. The model numbers and the names of the cribs can be seen in the chart below. All were manufactured from May 2012 through December 2012, and the model number, serial number, and manufacture date are printed on a label that’s on the bottom right side panel of the crib. Bexco has asked parents to discontinue using the recalled cribs and contact the company for a free replacement mattress support which includes replacement brackets. In the meantime, parents are encouraged to find a safer sleeping environment for their kids, such as a bassinet, play yard, or toddler bed, depending upon the child’s age, BabyRazzi reports.
The cribs were sold at Target and children’s stores nationwide. They were also sold online at Amazon.com from May 2012 to December 2013. Retail prices ranged between $150 and $250.
Consumers can contact the company at: DaVinci toll-free at (888) 673-6652 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. PT Monday through Friday, or visit www.davincibaby.com/safetyrecall3 or www.davincibaby.com and click on “Safety Recall” for additional information.
