WaterSurplus Adds to Manufacturing Capabilities, Illinois Water Technologies Increases Focus on Core Services in Deal Announced Today

LOVES PARK and ROSCOE, Ill. – February 7, 2020 – (Newswire.com)

WaterSurplus and Illinois Water Technologies (IWTech), announced today that an agreement has been reached for WaterSurplus to acquire, in whole, the water treatment equipment manufacturing and refurbishing division of IWTech. This acquisition will result in the transition of all manufacturing capabilities, including engineering, fabrication, and all capital projects from IWTech facilities in Roscoe, Illinois to the headquarters of WaterSurplus in Loves Park, Illinois.

“I am confident that this agreement will immediately strengthen the position of both WaterSurplus and IWTech,” said John Barelli, WaterSurplus President. “Given the increasing demand for our turn-key water treatment solutions, WaterSurplus will immediately utilize the excess fabrication capacity afforded us by the addition of the skilled team from IWTech. Simultaneously, IWTech will be able to focus more exclusively on their industry-leading services including ion exchange resin regeneration, reverse osmosis membrane cleaning, and equipment service and startup.”

“IWTech and WaterSurplus have enjoyed a long and mutually beneficial business relationship over the years,” said Scott Lipke, Illinois Water Technologies President. “I strongly believe this realignment of capabilities will serve to bolster that relationship and allow both of our companies to serve our customers better.”

While details of the transition are being finalized, the two organizations have agreed to work closely to ensure continuity of service for all customers and vendors. The transaction is expected to close by the end of Q1 2020.
