The Sherlocks discuss North American tour, new album (Includes interview)

On their North American tour, they said, “You can expect four guys rocking their socks off playing the entire album through, slowing it down for the tender moments. We always try to put on the best show we possibly can.”

Regarding the song selection approach for their new album, they said, “We all had a similar idea of the 12 tracks we wanted before recording begun. But a couple of songs got completely re written in the sessions, motions for example which became a firm favorite to be on the album. When we decided everyone had their say and we were all really happy with it.”

They listed “Candlelight” as their favorite song on the CD. “‘Candlelight’ was chosen to finish the album. This song probably has the most epic ending with the violin and cello. Every time we listen to it, we feel blown away by the production and the work we put in,” they said.

Their future plans are to finish their tour in Canada and the United States. “Then, we come back to the United States in January on the West Coast. After that, we’re back to the U.K. in February to smash another U.K. tour,” they said.

The Sherlocks shared that their music is inspired by a wide variety of things, including melodies and feelings.

Digital transformation of music

Regarding the digital transformation of the music scene, they said, “We are all surprised at how powerful social media is due to technology improving. It definitely allows you to have a platform to showcase what you’re about as well as giving you the chance to discover interesting artists that you perhaps wouldn’t necessarily be able to discover if it wasn’t for social media.
It speeds up the process as well, if you’re good then you’ll spread like wild fire and begin reaping the rewards in your shows and build a name.”

On their use of technology in their daily routine, they said, “We all have a Spotify account which is very handy on the road. We also use all social media formats to help get our music out across the world.”

For their fans, they concluded, “Firstly, we would like to thank every single person who have bought our album to achieve a No. 6 position in the U.K. charts. It is an amazing achievement. And to everyone else, go and have a listen and see what you think. We are very proud of it!”
