Sarah Jarosz wins two Grammy awards in the folk music categories

Jarosz took home the Grammy award for “Best Folk Album” for Undercurrent, and for “Best American Roots Performance” for the haunting “House of Mercy,” where she triumphed over some stiff competition in both categories (which included Judy Collins’ Silver Skies Blue CD, which was nominated for “Best Folk Album”).

A Texas native, Jarosz has been praised by multiple music critics, including The New York Times, which proclaimed her as “one of acoustic music’s most promising young talents.”

Undercurrent is Jarosz’s fourth studio album, and it was released on June 17, 2016, on Sugar Hill Records. The songstress also presented during the premiere Grammy ceremony.

On Friday, March 17, 2017, Jarosz will be bringing her music to her Long Island audience at the Landmark on Main Street in Port Washington, New York.

Her Undercurrent album is available on iTunes.
