This event is in loving memory of the late country queen Lynn Anderson, who was affectionately known as “The Great Lady of Country Music.”
During this special memorial event, 114 Hybrid Tea Lynn Anderson Roses that have been re-hybridized to pay homage to their namesake at the final resting place of Anderson. Due to lighting on the garden, the dedication was moved to later in the day. It will feature the following members from the Lynn Anderson Family such as her daughter, Lisa Sutton (who serves as project director), as well as her father Casey Anderson, her daughter Melissa Hempel; moreover, Marilyn Wellan, the former president of the American Rose Society, will also speak, along with David Johnson (Weeks Roses Representative), and Jeff Duffer from Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home and Memorial Park in Nashville, Tennessee.
This past April of 2018, Anderson was posthumously inducted into the Hall of Great Western Performers at the Cowboy Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City.
