Review: Sheryl Crow magnificent on new original song ‘The Dreaming Kind’ (Includes first-hand account)

This week marked the five-year anniversary of the Sandy Hook School tragedy, and Sheryl Crow released a new song and music video pay homage to the victims. This song features Crow’s niece, Ava, who sings with her on the track, lending her crisp vocals.

Crow noted that she felt compelled to write “The Dreaming Kind” for the folks at SHP (Sandy Hook Promise), who work tirelessly each day, in an effort to combat gun violence. “I hope this song will inspire the same feeling in those who hear it,” she remarked, prior to noting that the proceeds from the song go to SHP. She praised the nonprofit organization for all of the extraordinary work that they do, in order to educate and protect our nation from future bloodshed. “The Dreaming Kind” garners an A rating.

Most recently, on Monday, December 11, Crow performed the moving song live on ABC’s Good Morning America, which she sang with grace. It was great to see Ava singing with her aunt in the Good Morning America performance as well, since it allowed the listener to see the song from a different viewpoint, a child’s perspective. She was really able to tug at the hearts of her fans and viewers, all while raising awareness for a very important cause.
