article imageReview: Russell Dickerson stunning on new country single 'Yours' Special

By Markos Papadatos     Jul 3, 2017 in Music
Rising country artist Russell Dickerson has taken the contemporary country music scene by storm thanks to his debut single "Yours."
Dickerson co-wrote his sweet ballad "Yours" with longtime friends and collaborators Casey Brown and Parker Welling.
"I was a boat stuck in a bottle that never got the chance to touch the sea, just forgot on the shelf no wind in the sails, going nowhere with no one but me," Dickerson sings in the opening verse, and instantly lures the listener in his musical world. It features a killer electric guitar solo midway through, that is just infectious.
The song's monochromatic music video helps elevate Dickerson's dynamic vocal performance to a higher level. Russell Dickerson is a blessing to the modern country radio airwaves, since he sings from the heart.
"Yours" is available on iTunes.
The Verdict
Very rarely do country newcomers make a such a strong impression with their breakthrough radio single. Russell Dickerson shines in this situation, and is able to captivate his fans and listeners with his rich, husky voice. The song is warm, filled with tender emotions, and it deserves to become a staple in wedding ceremonies. This tune deserves to be No. 1 bound. With "Yours," Russell Dickerson emerges as the next "Edwin McCain of Country Music," and that ought to be taken as a major compliment. The schmaltzy "Yours" garners five out of five stars.
