Review: Roger Daltrey will blow your mind with new solo album (Includes first-hand account)

The album, which was produced by Dave Eringa, opens with the soaring title track, “As Long As I Have You,” and it is followed by the mid-tempo and groovy “How Far.” Daltrey commands one’s attention on the harking, bluesy ballad, “Where Is a Man To Go?”

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer shows his ability to rock out on “Get On Out the Rain,” while “I’ve Got Your Love” is more laid-back and mellow. Daltrey nails the high notes on “You Haven’t Done Nothing,” and equally compelling is “Out of Sight, Out of Mind.”

After the sultry yet bittersweet “Certified Rose,” the collection closes with “The Love You Save,” and on a fitting note with the nostalgic “Always Heading Home.”

As Long As I Have You by Roger Daltrey is available on iTunes.

The Verdict

Overall, Roger Daltry delivers on his latest studio offering As Long As I Have You. There is a great deal of variety on this 11-track musical effort, and each song on here has its own identity. The control Daltrey maintains over his voice is impeccable, and he proves that his music will stand the test of time. This new album garners an A rating.
