Thomas co-wrote this piano-driven ballad with producer Matt Serletic, and it is the closing track on his album, The Great Unknown. His music video was directed by Garen Barsegian from Whooden, and he did a solid job on its direction, thus capturing the essence and the emotion of the song.
“Pieces” earned a tremendous response when he performed it live at the Nikon at Jones Beach Theater on Long Island, as part of his co-headlining tour with Counting Crows.
“Pieces” is available on iTunes.
The Verdict
Rob Thomas proves once again that he can do no wrong no matter what he sings. Anything he touches, musically, turns to gold, and holds true for “Pieces.” He is not afraid to showcase his vulnerability, as a recording artist, and it shows. The radio airwaves ought to embrace this new tune. This video garners an A rating.
