Their album, released on Backroad Records and Average Joes Entertainment, opens with “The Sermon,” and it is followed by the mid-tempo “I’m a HellRazor,” which is a collaboration with Crucifix. “Red, White & Blue Collar” is bound to be a favorite recording for their fans. “Stomp Like Hell” is a true toe-stomping anthem, whereas in “51fifty,” they collaborate with Bubba Sparxxx.
“Ain’t Hearin’ Nothin'” is unapologetic, and it is followed by the spitfire “Cards I Was Dealt,” which features The Lacs as their special musical guests. It continues with the rebellious “Renegade Rides Again,” and “Hell on Heels,” which is comprised of strong melodies.
Uncle Kracker lends his smooth vocals on the title track, “Baptized in Bourbon,” and Colt Ford joins in on the laid-back “Dad’s Pontoon.” “Shook It Up,” which features Matt Borden, is nonchalant and fun. “I Don’t Wanna Go Home” is a collaboration with Durwood Black, while David Allan Coe joins them on “Take This Job.” Their album closes with “Wild Ones” and “Raised Up.”
The Verdict
Overall, Moonshine Bandits are back with a solid new studio effort, Baptized in Bourbon. There is a lot of variety on this project, and each song has its own identity on here.
The new Moonshine Bandits CD is available on iTunes.
