New York - Mike DelGuidice performed the opera classic "Nessun Dorma" at Madison Square Garden in New York, as part of Billy Joel's headlining show on August 9.
A Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, Joel accompanied DelGuidice on piano as he belted out "Nessun Dorma," showcasing his wide vocal range, and his ability to hit three octaves on key.
His version garnered a standing ovation from the Madison Square Garden audience. "Mike DelGuidice!" Billy Joel exclaimed, beaming with pride, and he continued with "Scenes from an Italian Restaurant."
Aside from being a member of Billy Joel's live band, DelGuidice is the front-man of the Billy Joel tribute band, Big Shot, which performs shows regularly in Nassau County (Mulcahy's Pub and Concert Hall) and Suffolk County (The Paramount).
The Verdict
Overall, Mike DelGudice shined in this instance, and his performance resonated well with the crowd. While it is a difficult song to tackle, he sure did it justice. His dynamic rendition of "Nessun Dorma" garnered an A rating.
