Review: Long Island singer sings Kesha’s ‘Praying,’ will blow you away (Includes first-hand account)

Pellegrino performed this moving tune in her church, the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Holbrook, accompanied by her acoustic guitar. The song’s video was filmed by Jenn Brown. She truly commands the listener’s attention, and is not afraid to showcase her vulnerability and powerhouse pipes. The control Pellegrino maintains over her voice is impressive, as well as her tone. She hits the high note with full force, and is able to send chills down her listeners’ spines while doing so.

Earlier in 2018, Pellegrino was nominated for “Best Singer From Long Island” in the 2018 “Best of Long Island” competition, and rightfully so.

The Verdict

Overall, Emi Pellegrino does Kesha justice with her soaring rendition of “Praying.” Kesha herself would be proud of this bold and brave version, especially since Pellegrino allows the empowering lyrics to speak for themselves. This acoustic performance garners an A rating.
