By Markos Papadatos     Jun 29, 2018 in Music
Children's music queen Laurie Berkner released her picture book "We Are The Dinosaurs," in honor of the 20 year anniversary of the song.
Illustrator Ben Clanton's impressive drawings are the perfect compliment to Berkner's catchy lyrics of her popular tune "We Are The Dinosaurs." It will resonate well with young children, especially those that enjoy dinosaurs, history and science. The dialogue from the marching dinosaurs is an added treat, which emerges young readers in a prehistoric world.
When Berkner performed "We Are The Dinosaurs" live at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York, that song was the fan-favorite, thus earning her the warmest reaction.
The Verdict
Overall, this picture book by Laurie Berkner is bound to be a children's classic someday. The story and the song are both relevant and important today, as when the song first came out. Ben Clanton has done a solid job on the illustrations as well. We Are The Dinosaurs garners two giant thumbs up.
