By Markos Papadatos     Nov 10, 2016 in Music
New York - On November 9, up-and-coming country artist Jon Langston opened for country star Cole Swindell at Terminal 5 in New York City.
Swindell's "Down Home Tour" was presented by CMT on Tour.
His set included his infectious ballad "Forever Girl," where everybody was singing along with him, as well as a cover of Toby Keith's "Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue," which put the entire venue in the patriotic spirit. "U.S.A. baby," Langston chanted, following its warm reception.
"Thanks for hanging out with us. We love you," he said, graciously. Langston closed his set with the spitfire "Showtime" and a cover of "Kiss My Country Ass."
Langston's rich, baritone vocals are reminiscent of Darius Rucker meets Kane Brown.
The Verdict
Overall, Jon Langston was able to warm up the Terminal 5 stage for country sensation Cole Swindell. Langston's set was a mixture of traditional and modern country, and he was able to stay true to his Georgia roots. His live show garnered an A- rating.
