New York - On June 14, 2018, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer John Mellencamp has another feather to add his cap. He has received the highest honor in songwriting.
Mellencamp was one of this year's 10 honorees of the coveted Songwriters Hall of Fame. He was in good company along with country star Bill Anderson, pianist and composer Steve Dorff, Jermaine Dupri, country artist Alan Jackson, musical group Kool & The Gang, and visionary artist Allee Willis.
An Indiana native, Mellencamp performed endearing versions of such songs as "Longest Days" and his signature tune, "Jack and Diane," which he incorporated as a singalong with the New York audience. He was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame by Nora Guthrie.
