Campbell greeted the New York audience and interacted well with them, as he sang them a wide range of his country tunes. These include the traditional country-sounding “Outta My Head” and his latest radio single “Outskirts of Heaven.” Equally fun were the flirty “Tomorrow Tonight” and “Fish.”
This journalist’s personal favorite performance of Campbell’s was his Top 10 hit “Keep Them Kisses Coming” as the music video played in the background. It was upbeat and a great deal of fun, as the Long Island audience sang and clapped along.
The Verdict
Overall, Craig Campbell’s set was country to the core. He was really able to warm up the stage for country mega-star Luke Bryan, and he did a solid job for the 25-minute duration of his opening show. Campbell is one of the most underrated singer-songwriters in contemporary country music. Well done.
