Review: Canaan Cox releases knockout music video for country single ‘Lie’ (Includes first-hand account)

His song “Lie” was the result of a failing relationship, but he turned that negative energy into something more optimistic. Cox is not afraid to showcase his vulnerability as a recording artist on this tune; moreover, the song’s video allows the viewer to see the true experience of his heartbreak.

He was the sole writer of the tune, and he co-produced it with Matt McClure. The video, directed by Dustin Kirkendal, will resonate well with any fans of boxing, since it depicts Cow displaying his boxing prowess at Music City Boxing. Most impressive is the fact that the musician lost a total of 65 pounds, with the assistance of his personal trainer, who steered him in the right direction from a health/fitness standpoint.

“Lie” is available on Spotify and on iTunes.

The Verdict

Overall, Canaan Cox delivers on his new music video for “Lie.” It compliments the song quite well. This drum-driven song is a great introduction to Cox’s artistry, and it reflects his raw and honest storytelling ability. To use boxing terminology, the video is a “knockout” performance. Bravo.
