Review: Above & Beyond wonderful on new single ‘Tightrope’ (Includes first-hand account)

“Tightrope” is a stand-out song when Above & Beyond performed it live in Ultra Miami, as well as the Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas. The track was debuted during a recent tour stop in India, where it became an instant hit with the fans, and bootleg videos of the tune inundated the Internet instantaneously.

Marty Longstaff (from the UK band The Lake Poets) delights on its breathy vocals, and the band shines (Jono, Tony and Paavo) in the songwriting department. Tony McGuinness wrote the heartfelt lyrics.

On September 2, Above & Beyond will be performing at Electric Zoo: The 6th Boro in New York City. Their fans in the “Big Apple,” can expect to hear “Tightrope” in their headlining set this fall.

The Verdict

Above & Beyond charms on their new track “Tightrope,” and they epitomize the best qualities that trance and electronic music have to offer. Marty Longstaff’s voice is haunting yet beautiful on the tune, which helps elevate it to a higher level. The song garners an A rating.

“Tightrope” is available on Spotify, and on iTunes.
