This event is a benefit for the Heart of South Georgia Fund, which will support the ongoing natural disaster relief efforts and other needs within the community. Cole Swindell, The Peach Pickers and DJ Rock will also be a part of this benefit.
This cause holds a special place in Phillip Phillips‘ heart, who described Albany, Georgia, as his “home.” “I have traveled near and far, but always come back home. This is where my family is and where I have planted my roots,” Phillips said in a post on social media.
Phillips shared that he was home on January 22, 2017, when the tornado hit the area. That was where he witnessed his entire community helping each other out during that critical time. Phillips acknowledged that he is privileged to have the opportunity to play that special concert on October 3, to help the victims of the horrible storm.
A former American Idol champ and native of Albany, Georgia, Phillips encouraged his listeners and fans to come out and enjoy a night with him, Luke Bryan, Cole Swindell, The Peach Pickers and DJ ROCK.
