Regarding his new compilation, Sixma said, “I’ve been thinking about bringing back the M6 alias and sound for a while now and when I finally sat down in the studio, I realized that I really missed this and felt massively inspired. Soon after I had a few new M6 tracks and remixes done and together with Armada I came up with the idea to do a compilation around it, combining my new music with new remixes of some of my other tracks. And now it’s finally out!”
When asked about his personal favorite song from his latest album, he responded, “I’m really excited about my collab with Standerwick called ‘ Rebirth’, I think it’s a perfect mixture of our sounds. Also I’m really diggin’ the Zac Waters remix of ‘Character’.”
On his plans for the future, he said, “Music wise, I’m gonna keep producing under both Mark Sixma and M6. Just finished a vocal track with Betsie Larkin I’m really happy with. Touring wise I’ll be doing the same, both M6 and Mark Sixma, which are gonna be totally different sets, consistent with my releases. Already locked in some massive gigs under M6 for 2017 to show the world what M6 is all about!”
Each day, Sixma is motivated by the passion for the music and the drive to create something new. “Also the love from the fans is such a big part of why I always give it my all in both productions and performances,” he said, graciously.
His New Year’s resolutions for 2017 are for him to work his “ass off in the studio,” as well as “to try and finish one track per month. “I’m also trying to spend more time outside when I get the chance, need to get rid of this studio tan,” he said, with a smile.
For his fans, Sixma concluded, “Massive thanks for all your support. You bring out the best in me and make it possible for me to live my dream.”
