On his experience on The Bachelorette, Pell said, “Overall, my experience was incredible. I had a great time and met a lot of great people. I am glad that I was able to be a part of The Bachelorette this season.”
His plans for the future are to go back into his music. “I am going to pick up where I left off. I will continue to write songs and work on a project of my own,” he said.
A country singer-songwriter, Pell was riding horses when he grew up in the heart of Texas in the small town of Burnet. By the age of 12, Pell was spending his summers breaking horses, with the wish of becoming a professional horse trainer until he graduated high school and accepted a football scholarship to The United States Military Academy at West Point in 2003. “I went to West Point on a football scholarship. That was quite the path for my college experience, but I don’t regret it. I treasure that time and it set the stage and it helped me appreciate the opportunities that I am given in life,” he said.
During his time at West Point, Pell found an escape from the demands of everyday life in his guitar. After graduating and serving in the Army for five years, Pell realized that his greatest passion was songwriting. The heartthrob threw himself into the exciting world of Nashville, chasing his dream while networking with publishing companies and established songwriters, including country stars Cole Swindell, Josh Hoge and Ash Bowers, and Dan Smyers from Dan + Shay, among others. “Cole and I became friends several months ago, and we’ve written five or six songs together, and hopefully, we will use some of those songs on our projects,” he said.
Pell listed Jana Kramer and Miranda Lambert as his dream female duet choices in country music. He praised his charity, CreatiVets, since they bring combat wounded veterans to help them tell their stories to help match it with the music. “I have a huge connection with these guys and I can relate to them from a military standpoint. As a songwriter, I am able to bridge the gap,” he said.
