Interview: Michael Tyler discusses new single ‘They Can’t See’ (Includes interview)

Regarding his single “They Can’t See,” Tyler said, “I just wanted to write about my perfect woman. I took some things from past relationships, and all that, and put it into one. I wanted to slip in a positive message that it’s not what is on the outside, it’s about what’s on the inside, and that I’m in love with everything they can’t see. I wanted women and some men to hear that and hopefully change some thoughts about some things.”

On the song selection process of his new album, 317, he said, “Thankfully, I had a secret weapon named Michael Knox. It was tough narrowing them down from 20 to 11, but I felt confident that we were picking the right ones for sure.”

Ironically enough, his 317 album will be released on March 17, and it stands for the number of miles from his hometown (Thayer, Missouri) to Nashville. “I thought it would be awesome to name my first album 317,” he said.

His plans for the future are to play some arena tours and he hopes to go to the United Kingdom to perform. “I hope everybody hears this album, and freak out,” he said, with a laugh. “I hope everybody loves it. I am super excited for everybody to hear it.”

Tyler listed Ariana Grande and Kelsea Ballerini as his dream female duet choices. “I would also love to sing with Shania Twain. I’ve had the biggest crush on her forever,” he said.
