Interview: Lawrence talks about upcoming shows in New York (Includes interview)

On May 11, Lawrence will be performing at the Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, New York. “It’s going to be a really fun show. It’s our first headlining show in a while, so we are really excited that it is sold-out,” Clyde said.

They will be playing at The Space at Westbury on July 12 with headliners Lake Street Dive. “We are very excited about that show because we have a lot of family and friends on Long Island. Both of our parents grew up on Long Island, and we spend most of our summers on Long Island. We do all of our recording on Long Island,” Clyde said. “Our band’s headquarters is on Long Island, but we never really played a proper show there. All of our family and friends are really happy.”

They also praised headlining act Lake Street Dive for being “one of their favorite bands,” thus adding to the excitement.

Gracie shared that for their album Breakfast, they went through a lot of titles, prior to coming up with Breakfast. “It felt very homey to us, and it sticks with people,” she said.

On their plans for the future, they said, “We are gearing up for this tour, and hopefully in the fall, we will start working on the next album. I feel that we have most of that album already written. Now, we need to go into the studio and start the whole recording process.”

Lawrence revealed that on July 27, they will be playing at a new venue, American Beauty, in Manhattan, where that show will consist entirely of cover songs from such artists as Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears.

They had nothing but the kindest words for their record label, Warner Bros. Records. “They really like us for who we are,” Clyde said. “Honestly, it is totally true. So far, it has been great!”
