Interview: KONGOS talk tour and new album ‘Egomaniac’ (Includes interview)

On October 15, KONGOS played a show at PlayStation Theater in the heart of New York City. “That was great. It was our first time playing that venue, and it has been great bring the new production and playing songs from Egomaniac,” he said.

Following their headlining tour in America, they will be touring in Europe, where they will be performing in Germany, Poland, Russian, Spain and the United Kingdom.

Their latest album Egomaniac was released on June 10 on Epic Records, and it is their third full-length studio effort, as well as their second major-label release. The CD features their lead single “Take It From Me,” which was a Top 10 hit on alternative radio.

From Egomaniac, his favorite song on the new collection is “Birds Do It.” “I really like ‘Birds Do It’. It has been a fun one to play live,” he said.

For their fans, Johnny concluded, “Thank you. Glad you are enjoying the music. You keep doing what you are doing, and we will keep doing what we are doing.”

He defined the word success as “Lots of money and lots of people at shows.” “Doing something that I enjoy, which I am doing, so I am very successful,” he said.
