On his song “Pick It Up Sometimes,” he said, “I was playing around on my loop pedal at Cove City sounds during a writing session with Eren Cannata. I laid down the drum beat and chord progression and kept it on a loop. We started singing out melodies and one of them just stuck. It was the chorus melody. That is when Eren came up with the line ‘pick it up sometimes.’ That is when I knew the song would be written around that line. As soon as I got back to my apartment in Brooklyn I started writing the verses and pre-chorus from personal experiences.”
He added, “Along with ‘Pick It Up Sometimes,’ I have an EP recorded and I also filmed my first ever music video for ‘Pick It Up Sometimes.’ Another single is in the near future!”
Each day, he is motivated by being happy and making the world a better place. “I believe if I can achieve those two things then I am living the life I want. As everyone knows, those are not as easy as they sound,” he said.
When asked about his musical inspirations, he responded, “I grew up on the Backstreet Boys and then, a little later, Green Day. I think that is where my love for pop rock came into play. However, it was an Ed Sheeran concert in February 2013 that changed my life. I was seeing him live because I happened to be in LA at the time with my family. I was mesmerized from the first song. It was then I realized that music was what I wanted to do with my life. I take a lot of influence from other artist as well including Zac Brown Band, John Mayer, Taylor Swift, and most recently, The Chainsmokers.”
For aspiring singers, he said, “Write your own songs as well. If you keep writing, you are bound to write one song that one person likes. I am still at the early days in my career but I believe that is the best place to start.”
The singer-songwriter listed Daya and Taylor Swift as his dream female duet choices. “I think Daya has a really cool voice and at a young age has proven how well she can collaborate with others (“Don’t Let Me Down”). I have also always admired how well Taylor Swift collaborates but I would really put that in the dream duet choices. I think she is an amazing storyteller,” he explained.
He defined the word success as “Being happy with something that I have worked hard on.”
For his fans, he concluded, “A big thank you for giving me a chance and I have a lot more new music on the way.”
