Interview: Coin’s Chase Lawrence talks ‘Talk Too Much’ single (Includes interview)

Regarding their latest single, Lawrence said, “We did a headlining tour about a year ago, and we came out of that tour exhausted. All of the tempos on the first album were very fast, and 10 days after the tour was over, he started writing for our second album, so we fixed our tempo issue. We wanted to kick the energy up, but we wanted to slow it down, and cut the tempo in half. That’s how the song came about.”

Lawrence added, “The video was directed by Kyle Thrash. It was his idea to do an anti-music video that shows the drama and everything that happens on a music video set. It’s an inside look of what a music video is and what really happens on set.”

The lead singer revealed that they filmed that video in one day. “It was great and we had an awesome time. We finished it in one day, but it was an amazing time,” Lawrence said. “We had an amazing production crew and director.”

On November 1, they will be performing at le poisson rouge in the heart of New York City. “I am excited about that show. We have been to New York a lot recently, but we haven’t played a proper show there in about a year, so we are anxious to play there. We are extremely excited about that,” he said. “We actually haven’t played there, so we are even more anxious.”

They are really looking forward to this tour, since it will afford them the privilege to play their new single “Talk Too Much,” in a live setting. “Last night was the first night of the tour. We are really excited to play new music in cities we haven’t been to,” he said.

“Talk Too Much” is available on iTunes.
