Hardwell strikes ‘gold’ in America for success of ‘Spaceman’

Hardwell received a gold record for his smash single “Spaceman,” for sales in excess of 500,000 units in America. This track was originally released back in February of 2012.

The Dutch producer was surprised with the gold certification plaque after his performance at the 538 Jingle Ball in Amsterdam, which was hosted by Ivo and Daniel of Radio 538, both of which are acclaimed radio personalities in The Netherlands. It was presented to Hardwell by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Regarding this milestone, Hardwell remarked in a press release, “This award is the greatest Christmas gift I could think of. I think it’s amazing that ‘Spaceman’ has so many downloads in America!”

Throughout his career in the electronic dance music (EDM) scene, Hardwell was crowned “Best DJ in the World” twice by DJ Magazine, in 2013 and 2014.
