Early Morning Rebel talk about ‘Set the World on Fire’ single (Includes interview)

On their new single “Set the World on Fire,” they said, “We wrote the song on piano. I was listening to a lot of Bruce Springsteen. Some of my favorite songs and music is really simple, stripped down. It seems like it always invokes the most visceral response. I really wanted to have that feeling with the song. The song is a love song to my wife, Ariana. It’s an aching love song that almost feels sad. It isn’t meant to feel like a sad love song, just intense and gutting. The way love can be. The intention, in hindsight was to write a love song for her that felt passionate and desperate without any creepiness or weakness.”

On the origin of their band name, they said, “We came up with the name after a bunch of countless names didn’t feel right. It really made sense and felt right. It was right.”

Regarding their plans for the future, they said, “We are in the process of recording a new record. We are also working a lot composing for TV and Film. We plan to do both. We also look forward to shooting more videos for our own music. We love to put picture to our music. New record should be done early 2017.”

They added, “We have been composing for Viceland on their show: ‘Vice World Of Sports.’ We have also placed a bunch of our music with them. We love what they are doing and really proud and honored to be working with VICE.”

Early Morning Rebel has been inspired primarily by The Beatles and John Coltrane, and they are also drawn to visual artists. “We love visual art and are very inspired by that medium. We would love to do more collaborations with painters and visual artists,” they said.

“We are honored and humbled that you dig what we do,” they told their fans. “Thank you so much for the support. We love you.”
