This event will be hosted by “Miss Country Soul” Jeannie Seely (who just celebrated her 50th year as a member of the Grand Ole Opry), and it will take place at 3rd and Lindsley in Nashville. It feature performances from her artist friends and musicians such as Larry Gatlin, Jimmy Caps, David Frizzell, Shelly West and Tony Toliver with Dottie’s “Wild West Band.”
This October will mark the 85th birthday of the late country star Dottie West (who passed away on September 4, 1991). While her actual birthday is on October 11, the organizers decided to do it one week late, since West was known for always running late.
Aside from being a celebration of the life and music career of country icon Dottie West, it will be a night of giving. All of the proceeds will benefit the Nashville Musicians Emergency Relief Fund.
Dottie West was the winner of the first-ever Grammy award for “Best Country & Western Vocal Performance, Female” for her hit single “Here Comes My Baby Back Again.”
