While it was difficult for him to select a personal favorite track on the new CD, but he is very fond of the title track “Southern Gothic.” “I’m fond of the message and the visuals that it offers. Country songstress Carly Pearce had recently listed Dan Tyminski as her dream male collaboration choice in music. “There are a lot of people out there. That is an awesomely nice thing for her to say. If the opportunity were to pop up that would be amazing,” he said. “Honestly, it’s an honor to have anybody want to do something like that.”
He also had nothing but the kindest remarks about bluegrass soul queen Dale Ann Bradley. “Dale Ann is amazing to everyone. You can’t help but just love Dale Ann,” he said. “Dale Ann is the most natural singer. That girl was born to sing! She deserves everything she gets and more. I am a fan of Dale Ann’s.”
Digital transformation of music industry
On the impact of technology on the music scene, he said, “It still blows me away when I hear new sounds that go together, and work. I am fascinated by that. It’s outside of what I have done in my career. I’m a real acoustic guy. I grew up and played bluegrass music, so to be able to branch out and blend that music with what the world has to offer today is fascinating and thrilling.”
Tyminski further added, “I just got a vinyl copy of this new record and I am so thrilled.”
Regarding his use of technology on his daily routine, Tyminski said, “I am the poster child for GPS. I can’t get anywhere without a GPS.”
For his fans, he concluded about the new album, “Just open up and be ready to take the journey that the album offers. It was important to us to try and create a piece of work that was meant to be listened to as an entire album. I hope people can absorb it like that. Come out and hear live music.”
